Electronic Poker is a popular game that is able to be bet on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at home on your personal computer, through a net account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player trying to achieve the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. On this account it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be useless here.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the player has selected which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are given out if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that skillful enthusiasts are able to choose the most money-making game each instance.

Once the first round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, several versions of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their winnings, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
