Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your PC, through an Internet account. The game rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to get the highest combination of cards possible in order to win cash. On this account it is much the same as a normal game of poker, apart from the interaction with competing players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the player has selected which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that discerning bettors are agile enough to choose the most money-making ones each instance.
As soon as the first round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that has been won. Further, some styles of the game allow the player a chance to double their winnings, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
