Video Poker is a popular game that can be played in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your home computer, using an Internet account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest mixture of cards possible in order to acquire cash. On this account it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, apart from the involvement with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts should now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. After the gambler has chosen which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that experienced gamblers are able to select the most profitable machine each instance.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that might have been won. Additionally, a few styles of the game allow the gambler a chance to double their profits, in which situation another game is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
