Electronic Poker is a popular game that is able to be played in casinos throughout the globe, or alternatively at home on your PC, through an Internet account. The regulations are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to get the best mixture of cards achievable in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be "handed out" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts should now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the player has selected which cards she wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be needed they will be handed out. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that experienced players are agile enough to choose the most profitable game each and every time.
As soon as the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the gambler a chance to double their profits, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
