Video Poker is a popular game that usually will be bet on in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your home computer, through a net account. The regulations are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to get the greatest mixture of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will be "handed out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Generally, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning players are agile enough to pick the most money-making ones every time.
Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game allow the bettor an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which situation a further game is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
