Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be wagered on in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at your house on your PC, using a web connection. The regulations are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, apart from the line of contact with other players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the player puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will be "handed out" on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers will need to now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards he or she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be given out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.

Typically, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning gamblers are agile enough to choose the most beneficial game every time.

After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Additionally, some styles of the game give the player an opportunity to double their profits, in which situation a further game is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
