Electronic Poker is a favored game that usually will be gambled on in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your personal computer, using an Internet account. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the best combination of cards possible in order to acquire cash. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the play button. A five card hand will be "dealt" on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers should now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the player has selected which cards he or she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are given out if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are agile enough to choose the most beneficial ones each time.

Once the first round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that might have been won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the player an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
